Dubai Internet City Free zone

The Dubai Internet City Free zone is another highly popular free zone in the UAE, alongside Ajman Free Zone and Umm Al Quwain Free Zone within the United Arab Emirates. The DIC Free Zone is specialized and perfectly suited for registering companies in the information technology sector.

Like all free zones, Dubai Internet City free zone allows the registration of companies with 100% foreign ownership, meaning that the company can be established by non-residents of the UAE. However, it's important to note that a company registered in the free zone can operate either within the free zone or outside the UAE. Within DIC, global IT giants like Dell, Siemens, Sony Ericsson, Microsoft, among others, are already registered.

Tips to consider

  1. Dubai Internet City requires annual audit reports for companies;
  2. A minimum share capital of AED 50,000 (approximately USD 13,700) must be paid.
Important:

If business activities are conducted within the UAE and the company’s turnover exceeds USD 100,000, a 5% VAT is applicable.

Also, it’s essential to remember that obtaining a license for the respective activity is a mandatory step in setting up a business in the Emirates. DIC Free Zone allows obtaining a service license for activities such as information technology, programming, and telecommunications.

The Dubai Internet City Free zone license is valid for 1 year and needs to be renewed annually in advance (1 month before expiration).
